Can I get some Bloody Tacos!

With many taco kits popping up during the last year, who are the people behind creating such concept from scratch, how do they do it and what is their inspiration? A new kid on the London block: Bloody Tacos is in town and we wanted to know more about them:

MexiBrit: Can you tell me about you and how the project came along?

We are Lalo and Daniel, we met working at the same restaurant a few years back, one day during the first lockdown the idea of doing something with the extra time we had while waiting to go back to our full-time jobs happened, but we didn’t pay too much attention to it, few months passed and in January we had that same talk, but this time we made it happen and in a matter ten days we were doing our first deliveries. It was just a matter of getting dots together, we are both Professional Chefs, so the cooking part was sorted but we were missing the design part, so we contacted Josue, a Crypto Artist and a very good friend located in Mexico City who made all the branding and is also a partner in the project.

MexiBrit: Did the pandemic make you create your new concept?

It happened because of the pandemic, we had some free time, that for hospitality people is not that common and we needed something to keep us busy and focused so why not starting a small business. We had no photos, no content, no anything, everything was built as we were cooking week by week, not the greatest way but that’s how it happened.

 

MexiBrit:  What is your passion in terms of food? What is your purpose?

We are both fans of Mexican Cuisine, more specifically street food, but have some Spanish, French and lately Italian influences. But we just want to make tasty food that we enjoy cooking and that our costumers love eating, as Expats we understand that living away from home is tough and sometimes a comforting meal means too much, we simplified every step so everyone can enjoy a meal the way it is supposed to be.

 

MexiBrit: Tell us about your products and the ingredients you use.

Chillies and spices are all from México, we get all the vegetables from the closest farmers market and we use only meat produced in the Uk.

MexiBrit: What have been the comments of your customers?

This far we haven’t had one bad comment or a complaint, we´ve been able to create a very nice relationship with the regulars and those keep growing every week.
