Day of the Dead Family Festival at the Horniman Museum
Join us at the Horniman Museum and Gardens for the very first Day of the Dead Family Festival, celebrating Mexico’s most iconic cultural tradition in one of London’s most beautiful museums and gardens.
This one-day festival will fill the Horniman with vibrant music, dance, craft, food, and colour — complete with immersive décor across the gardens — honouring the annual remembrance of loved ones in a family-friendly and meaningful way.
What to Expect
Live Music and Dance
A full day of performances on the Bandstand, hosted by DJ GypsyBox, including:
Family Workshops
Get hands-on with activities including papel picado (cut paper decorations), skeleton puppets, flower garlands and more. Full workshop programme to be announced on Friday 26 September.
Mexican Market Stalls
Explore a colourful Mexican market filled with crafts, jewellery, fashion, art, and design by: Mexican Coffee Co., Marketianguis, Marusa, David Retamero, JJ Unrefined, Mixy Fandino, Malinalli Arts, Inkas Crafts, Sicaru, Mexikitsch, Casañor, Mexican Mama, Alpaca Emporio, Atellier Zorro
