Cinco de Mayo is more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a symbol of strength, unity, and cultural pride. This year, we’re bringing that spirit to Hackney Bridge for the second time with Mexico Vivo Fest, an immersive celebration of Mexican traditions, music, dance, and food.
Why We Celebrate
While Cinco de Mayo marks the Battle of Puebla in 1862, where Mexico triumphed against French forces, today it represents something bigger—the resilience of the Mexican people. It’s a reminder that our culture, history, and identity cannot be erased, no matter the challenges we face. Mexico Vivo Fest is about honouring that resilience and sharing the richness of Mexican heritage with the world.
