Meet Papatxoa taking part at 2020’s Mexican Christmas Market.
We – Erika and Ezequiel – are a couple of Mexicans with an almost three-year-old “mexicanito”. We are truly passionate about our culture, when moved out to England about two years ago we wanted our little one not only to speak Spanish, we were determined to make him proud of his roots and heritage, to identify himself as Mexican.
We are always looking for new ways to add a bit of Mexican culture to our everyday life, either through food, music, textiles, crafts, arts, or game boards, because you can leave Mexico but Mexico will never leave you.
Papatxoa was born out of love, everything you see is handmade with true passion and made of dreams. Everything is inspired by all the colours, flavours, smells and sounds of Mexican culture.

Erika: ‘
In Jalisco you crack on Christmas celebrations quite early on December with a family gathering, eating buñuelos and drinking ponche, two weeks after the real celebration begins with “Las Posadas” and of course breaking “La Piñata”. But definitely the tradition we love the most is the Christmas Dinner as it brings the whole family to the table, it’s more than just sharing food, it’s sharing love with them, it’s about caring for family.’
